Asian Population and Development Association (APDA) and Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center (APDA), together with UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office (UNFPA APRO), held a hybrid Intergenerational Dialogue of the Asian Parliamentarians and Youth Advocates to
Address Meaningful Youth Engagement on 2-3 June 2022 in Bangkok,Thailand.
This dialogue is a continuation of last year’s programme that was named “Inter-Generational Dialogue 2021”, and its objective is to follow up and share good practices of meaningful youth engagement and youth policies/laws, especially in the COVID-19 context. Furthermore, this event aims to strengthen partnerships between parliamentarians/NCs, CSOs, and youth advocates in respective countries and explore modalities for meaningful youth participation and engagement.

Intergenerational Dialogue and Preparatory Youth Consultation
The preparatory youth consultation held on the 5th helped prepare the youth advocates for the main dialogue. The youth advocates then led conversations during the main dialogue on the 8th with the presentation of gaps and key recommendations. The dialogue was able to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue and empower youth to engage in discussions regarding their roles and rights.

The Intergenerational Dialogue for Asia-Pacific parliamentarians and youth advocates on Meaningful youth engagement was conducted in two stages on 5th and 8th July 2021. Conducted by APDA with support from UNFPA APRO and Y-PEER Asia Pacific Centre, a total of over 140 participants attended the event.

The power of youth advocates in the disability movement
The 2030 and Counting pilot project sought to give youth with disabilities a seat at the table on the SDGs – providing them with the tools and confidence they need to become their own agents of change. This report provides an overview of the project, together with learnings and recommendations for the future.

Crisis talks: Raising the global voice of youth with disabilities on the COVID-19 pandemic
We have been driven by a determination to understand how the pandemic has been experienced by the millions of youth with disabilities, like us, in our countries. Through this research project, we sought to get youth with disabilities talking about the COVID-19 pandemic. The views of youth with disabilities are too often side-lined, and in times of crisis we need to hear from marginalised groups more than ever.
