2023 Events for IYD

"The world we live in is changing like never before. The use of digital platforms including social media channels has increased drastically with COVID to the already advancing technology. With easy access to technology, many young people uses digital platforms for education, recration, communication to making friends globally which increases their vernurablity to cyber threats and risks. Therefore, I strongly believe every individual, CSOs, Governmen, Advocates, UN agencies and policy makers should once again come together and prioritize digital safety and failure to do so will lead to many issues such as mental health issue, cyber sex, cyber bullying and cyber crime."

Lakey Tshering Bhutan

“I am proud of myself. And every day I want to encourage people to think positively and inspire them through the life I live with dignity.”

“It is truly important to have a discussion with duty-beaarers and political leaders in our country for them to hear our young people's call to action. The Intergenerational Dialogue paved the way in creating a much open space for the young people to freely and safely speak out our demands and on how they can meaningfully engage in nation-building. It helped ensure that we were being heard by our duty-bearers and political leaders. Many young people want to share our thoughts and ideas with our leaders, we just lack a platform to do so.”

“Living with Asperger’s (autism), I have a different definition of being productive. It means I can work on my own pace in my own time and place. Just like everyone else, I have my preference, too.”
