Join us for a crucial conversation on the intersection of Health, Hygiene, and Climate Change in Bangladesh, organized by Y-PEER Bangladesh, in collaboration with Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center, Youthday Space, and Bangladesh Social Action Network (BSAN). This webinar aims to highlight how climate change is impacting public health, hygiene practices, and access to critical health services during disasters like floods and cyclones.

Global Mental Health E-course on SRHR and Mental Health for Young Key Populations (YKP) and Young People – Batch IX
This ninth regional E-course offers young people and young key populations (ages 16-30) a comprehensive understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) alongside Mental Health. Participants will gain essential knowledge and practical skills to advocate for and address these critical topics within their communities. 

Objectives

  1. To introduce the concept of mental health and emphasize the importance of self-care for mental well-being. 
  2. To explain various mental disorders, their symptoms, and effective management strategies. 
  3. To explore the connections between SRHR and mental health, as well as the links between gender, physical health, and mental health. 
  4. To provide insight into mental health policies and effective advocacy methods for driving change. 
  5. To offer a platform for acquiring accurate, fact-checked information on mental health and its components. 
 

E-course Details:

  • The course will be delivered via Google Classroom. The tentative modes of instruction include study materials such as documents, video links, and PowerPoint presentations.  
  • The E-course consists of 7-8 classes, with each class spanning seven days. This allows participants to complete the course within 6-7 weeks, though this timeline may be shortened. 
  • Due to the platform’s limitations, a maximum of 250 participants will be selected for each batch.
  • Applications will open during the first week of September 2024 and close on September 20, 2024. After the selection process and orientation, classes are expected to begin on October 2, 2024, in alignment with World Mental Health Day 2024.

Application Criteria: 

  • Age:16-30years
    Priority will be given to Young Key Populations and youth advocates.
  • Application selection of only genuine answers rather than AI-generated.
  • Certificates will be awarded only to participants who complete ALL classes.

M4M Mentorship Program 1.0

Announcing the First M4M Mentorship Program on International Youth Day 2024!

In celebration of International Youth Day 2024, Me For Myself (M4M), with the support of Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center, is excited to launch our new program – M4M Mentorship Program 1.0!

This program is designed to engage youth through a peer-to-peer approach, offering them easy access to crucial information and services related to mental health, its significance, and effective coping mechanisms. 

Program Overview:

The M4M Mentorship Program 1.0 is open to all active M4M members and youth across the Asia Pacific region. Participants selected for this program will be mobilized at the grassroots level to coordinate and facilitate Mental Health Awareness Workshops within their districts, colleges, or communities. The program will run for three months, providing participants with comprehensive knowledge about mental health and well-being.

Mentorship Focus:

This program is structured to teach, share, and build the capacity of young people, empowering them with essential knowledge about mental health. Mentors will guide participants through personalized sessions, equipping them with the skills needed to lead initiatives and make a lasting impact in their communities. 

Who Should Apply?

Priority will be given to: 

– Members of the M4M Volunteer Program (Batch I, II, III, IV)

– M4M Ambassador Program (Batch I & II)

– M4M E-courses participants

– Y-PEER National Networks

Applicants with prior experience in facilitation and coordination are highly encouraged to apply.

This year, Y-PEER Nepal is jointly organizing the social media campaign with YPEER Asia Pacific Center -Ypeer AP  & Youth Day Space.

ICPD30 Regional Academy

The “ICPD Regional Academy” initiative presents an essential opportunity to bridge the knowledge gap among young individuals in the Asia Pacific region regarding the ICPD agenda, Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Mental Health.  We aim to empower these youths to make informed decisions about their well-being.

Who can join?
The ICPD Regional Academy is open to young individuals aged 13 to 35 from the Asia Pacific region who are passionate about issues related to the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Mental Health. We welcome participants from diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn and become advocates for positive change in their communities.

How to register?

 

Mode and Duration

  • The ICPD30 Regional Academy will be conducted through Zoom, and a link will be sent to the participants a day before.
  • Session will be every Saturday from 14th October to 25th November.
  • The session will be for 2 hours from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Bangkok time.

  • The ICPD Regional Academy covers a wide range of essential topics, including but not limited to:

M4M Ambassador Program 2.0

Background:

With support from Y-PEER Asia Pacific Center, Me for Myself (M4M) proudly introduces the M4M Ambassador Program 2.0 (Batch II). Our aim is to engage young people effectively through peer engagement, facilitating easy access to vital information and services regarding mental health, its significance, and coping strategies.

This call for the M4M Ambassador Program invites all active M4M members and others from countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Laos, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and beyond, to participate. Our goal is to mobilize them at the grassroots level to coordinate and conduct Mental Health Awareness Workshops for youth in their regions, colleges, or communities.

Preference will be given to members of the M4M Volunteer Program (Batch I, II, III, IV), Y-PEER National Networks, and individuals with past facilitation and coordination experience. Global Mental Health E-course on Mental Health and SRHR for YKP and young people - Batch VIII

This regional E-course will provide comprehensive information for young people and young key
populations (ages 16-30) on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Mental
Health. It will also equip participants on how to advocate and take action in their communities on
these topics.

Objectives
1. To explain the concept of mental health and the importance of taking care of one’s mental health.
2. To explain mental disorders, their symptoms, and management.
3. To build a connection between SRHR and Mental Health, Gender and Mental Health, and Physical Health and Mental Health.
4. To help understand the policies and advocacy methods around Mental Health.
5. To provide a platform to learn comprehensive and fact-checked knowledge on Mental Health and its components.

E-course Details
● The classes will be delivered through Google classroom. Tentative modes of delivery are via study materials such as documents, video links, and PowerPoints.
● The E-course will have a total of 6-8 classes. Each class will last for seven days. Therefore, the E-course can be completed in 6-7 weeks. This is tentative and can be shortened.
● There is a limit of 250 people on google classroom, therefore a maximum of 250 applicants will be selected for each batch.
● The application will be opened on September 10 th , 2023 until September 20 th , 2023. After the selection of the applicants and orientation, we begin the classes from 2 nd October, 2023 on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, 2023.
